Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center appreciates your interest of employment with our

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be a United States Citizen.
Must have a high school diploma or a GED.
Must be a resident of Virginia, or establish a residency within 30 days of hire.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must pass extensive background check. (No DUI's, no felony convictions, etc.)
No use of any controlled substance, to include marijuana.
Engaging in behavior which is in conflict with the law or which would place the individual or
department in a position of compromise, undue embarrassment or criticism, or loss of
Cheating on any examination or test associated with the position.
Must have received an honorable discharge or general discharge under honorable
Membership in or association with members of subversive organizations (i.e. government
overthrow, extremist, racial/religious intolerance, etc.)
Failure to comply with reporting times, appointments, deadlines or time limits imposed
during any portion of the hiring process. Reasonable exceptions shall be granted on a
case-by-case basis for family emergencies or for out-of-state candidates.
Candidates will pass a comprehensive background check, physical exam, panel review,
polygraph test, and panel interview. Applicants who are not selected may re-apply in six months.

Under occasional supervision, perform skilled mechanical and plumbing work on
specialized systems and utility machinery and providing care and maintenance of the
Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center. Work involves the repair and maintenance
of heating, water, air conditioning, and ventilation systems. Work also involves
performing skilled repair on HVAC systems. Employee shall work in accordance with
standard procedures and practices of the various trades and requires expert judgment
and initiative in detecting the causes of malfunctions, in solving problems, and in

Staff Nurse (LPN), Medical Department
Under general supervision, performs responsible professional work providing nursing
care to the inmates of the Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center. Work involves
making scheduled rounds and administering medication as prescribed by the doctor.
Employee is also responsible for preparing various reports and medical records.
